Gonyea, Mark. A Book About Design. Henry Holt & Company: 2007. ISBN: 9780805075755.
This non fiction book is about not making art too complicated. This book walked you through the importance of size, shape, and color. First, it talks about "All or Nothing" which is about balance. Next is the box, which is very important to art. The third thing it talks about is 1:3:9. This is about most ratios of art. Then there is contrast and another is using letters in art. The next one is about color shades and when to use them. Finally is the important things in your artwork and how to make things stand out.
I didn't really enjoy this book. I thought that it could have gotten the point across faster than it did and it bored me in the first chapter. The illustrations got the point across, but the art had nothing interesting about it. I would recommend this book to kids aged from 7 to 11.
