Swift
Blake, Robert. Swift. New York: Philomel Books, 2007. ISBN: 978-0-399-23383-8
Johnnie and his father have a hunting dog named Swift. One day all three of them were out hunting. Swift started to smell something in the air. It was a bear! Johnnie's father said to stand back. Then he started to shoot the bear. The bear got mad and broke the father's leg. After that the bear left. Pa said to go get help, so Johnnie and Swift passed through Beaver Pond, the forest, and much more. Do they survive? Find out and read it! I really liked this book, I would apply it to grades 3-6th. I loved the pictures and the details.
