Levy, Janice. Lopez, Loretta. Celebrate! It's Cinco De Mayo!. Albert Whitman & Company: 2007. ISBN: 9780807511763.
In this non-fiction book, a boy listens to his grandfather tell the story of Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is the Mexican independence day when they gained their independence from France. The French forces went into Mexico with better weapons and a larger army, but Mexico won the war by using a special tactic.
I thought this was an interesting book for children around the ages of 5 to 9. It was very informative. I also enjoyed reading the Spanish subtitles and learning some Spanish.
