Eli Remembers

Vander Zee, Ruth, and Marian Sneider. Eli Remembers. Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdmans Books for Young Readers, 2007

Eli Remembers is about a boy, Eli, who's Jewish. Every year at Rosh Hashanah Eve his Great-grandmother, Gussie, always lit seven candles and sighed. Eli always wondered why. He then went to Lithuania, he there found out why his grandmother and Great-grandmother always cried or sighed during Rosh Hashanah Eve. This story is an exciting book that I think if you like to read about the Holocaust you'll enjoy this. I really liked this because it was so suspenseful and kepy you guessing. I think grades 2-5 will like this book. I hope a lot of people will enjoy this book.
