Owen and Mzee: The Language of Friendship
Hatkoff, Isabella . Owen and Mzee: The Language of Friendship. New York: Scholastic Press, 2007. ISBN: 13: 978-0-0439-8995-9
This book is about a hippo and a 130 year old tortoise that were best friends. Owen, the hippo was separated from his mom and was taken to Haller Park. Owen was put in an enclosure with some monkeys and a few tortoises and that is how Owen met Mzee, the tortoise. I liked this book because I like animals and learning about animals. I learned that any animals can get along. I would recommend this for 3-6th graders.
