Moses

Hodges, Margaret. Moses. Harcourt: 2007. ISBN:9780152009465.

Long ago, there was a baby named Moses. His mother had put him in a basket and put the basket in the Nile River. The Pharaoh's daughter found him and adopted him. Moses grew up as a prince, but one day he killed a guard because the guard was hurting a Hebrew, who were slaves in that day. Moses was sentenced to death, but he ran away. One day, while tending to the sheep, he saw a burning bush and God talked to him. God said to rescue his people. So Moses and Aaron went back to Egypt and told the new Pharaoh to let the Hebrew's go. Pharaoh said no and God put ten plagues on Egypt. Pharaoh then let the Hebrews go. As Moses and the Hebrews went to the promised land, the Pharaoh went to kill them all. So Moses parted the ocean and led the people through and closed it when they were all out. Moses then brought back the Ten Commandments, and Moses's journey was over. God was with him all the way.
I thought this book was ok, and had a lot of things I already knew. Plus, I am a Christian, so I liked it. I would recommend it to 1st to 2nd graders who are religious.
