Bateman, Teresa. Traveling Tom and the Leprechaun. Illustrated by Melisande Potter. Holiday House Inc.: 2007. ISBN: 9780823419760.
This fictional book is about a princess who does not want to get married, but rumors go around that she is going to. Finally she says she will marry a man who can out-wit a leprechaun and steal his pot of gold. Traveling Tom comes along and hears of this and falls in love with the princess, so Tom sets out for the pot of gold. He gets the pot of gold by "tricking" the leprechaun by making him think gold just weighs you down.
I thought this was a good book, but it had a weird story. I liked it though, because of how traveling Tom tricks the leprechaun. The pictures are very chippy and funny by how each character is portrayed, especially the leprechaun. I would say the age range for this book would be kindergarden through 3rd grade.
