Marja's Skis

Pendziwol, Jean E. Marja's Skis. Illustrated by: Jirina Marton. Groundwood Books: 2007. ISBN: 978-0-88899-674-9.

The book Marja's Skis was an interesting story about a young girl named Marja, and everybody thinks that she is too small to do anything. But when Marja's father dies people come to take care of her father's team of horses. When Marja comes home from school she sees that one of the men staying at her house is drowning. Do you think she believes she is big and strong enough to save him? I believe this is an interesting book. Also, I think that the book was sad or sorrowful because her father dies and he was the only one who thought she was strong enough to go to school. I recommend this book for kids ages five and up.
