A Sea-Wishing Day

Heidbreder, Robert. A Sea-Wishing Day. Kids Can Press: 2007. ISBN: 9781553377078.

Have you ever wanted to do something, but were unable to do it? In A Sea Wishing Day a little boy does just that. He finds a way to go to sea by using his imagination. On their journey at sea, they searched the area for land. They find an island with a crocodile sleeping on it. As they search the island, the boy's dog, Skipper, finds a treasure chest. Then, they come across some pirates they stole the treasure from. They spot a tree, and the trip came to an end. The little boy then took a bath, and played with the treasure from the island.

I think that this is a good book about imagination because the little boy and his dog imagine they are at sea even though they are only in a swimming pool. I recommend this book for people in grades two or three because it is too hard for beginning readers, but not too easy for kids who have been reading for a little bit and are still learning.
