The Rich Man and the Parrot

Nadimi, Suzan. The Rich Man and the Parrot. Albert Whitman and Company: 2007. ISBN: 9780807550595.

The Rich Man and the Parrot is about a very rich man that lived in Persia. The rich man traveled a lot and brought back all kinds of things for himself and his parrot. This was not an ordinary parrot; it could talk. The rich man gave the parrot all of the things that it wanted, except for one thing; to be freed from his cage. The rich man would not let the parrot free because he knew that the parrot would fly away. One day, he was going to travel to India and he asked the parrot if he wanted anything. The only thing the parrot wanted was for the rich man to say "hello" to his family. When the rich man did this, all of the parrots fell over. The man came home and told the parrot.
I thought this was a good book to read. It had lots of color and beautiful pictures. I recommend this book for 8-11 year olds.
