Bennett, Sophia. The Look. 2013. Scholastic, Inc.
A high school girl in London, England named Ted Trout tries to navigate her way through the world of modeling. Meanwhile, her sister is sick and fighting to stay alive.
The language used in the book keeps the reader engaged. The author uses several references to popular culture, which makes the story more relatable. For example, "I am utterly not Kate Moss" is one of many references made to celebrities throughout the book.
The only illustration used in the book is the cover. The picture on the cover is a photograph representing the sisters in the story
I enjoyed reading this book. It is well written and engaging. I would recommend this book to high school girls, especially if they enjoyed reading the "Airhead" series by Meg Cabot or "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult.
