Rumford, James. Silent Music: a Story of Baghdad. Roaring Brook Press: 2008. ISBN: 9781596432765 .
Silent Music: a Story of Baghdad is a book about a young man named Ali who loved to dance and enjoyed parent-rattling music! Ali also likes to practice writing his native language in calligraphy. He likes to talk about his secret hero and history. The artwork is very colorful. Calligraphy looks like art, too. My favorite part of the story is the castle. I would recommend this book to all kids and adults.
