Boston, Carole. The Beatitudes. Eerdman's Books. 2010. ISBN: 978-0-8028-5352-3.This book was about slavery and civil rights. African Americans drew on the same faith during the segregation era as they did in the time of slavery. The Beatitudes tells a sad story in a hopeful way. The illustrator used water colors. I like it because they showed the presidents. I recommend this book. My favorite part was the civil rights where there is a poem across the bottom.
