Nobody liked Ewetopia. She tried everything to impress them. Once, she saved the whole community from death; she was a hero. She saved them by dressing like a wolf and telling the disguised wolf to clean his room.

I think this is a great story. It would be great especially for kids ages eight through twelve.

Have you ever craved that perfect game-time treat? Roster did, but he is missing the main ingredient- buffalo wings. He goes in search of the buffalo wings, meeting many other animals along the way.

I believe this book is very good, fun, and full of laughter. It would be enjoyed by grades 3-5. I recommend this book because it is just fun to read.

I liked this book because I think sharks are cool! People age 8 and up would like to read this book because this book has a few difficult words.

This continuation of My Side of the Mountain tells how the Baron Weasel tries to attack Oski's young falcons. Meanwhile, Oski is trying to teach her falcons to fly. During the last of his attacks, the Baron Weasel scares the young falcons into flying.

I enjoyed this book and I recommend it to anyone who has ever read My Side of the Mountain. I also recommend it to 9-10 year olds.

This is no fairytale! Real Princesses is about real princesses and their life stories. It explains how to become a princess, by birth or by marriage. The book tells about different royal families and their experiences, and things they do or that they are known for. Real Princesses also has pictures, captions, princess facts, and trivia questions. The book also introduces many different princesses.
I recommend this book to girls age ten and up, and to people who like princesses and things of that sort. My opinon of the book is that it is ok. It is interesting, but I'm not really interested in princesses.

Our Liberty Bell

This theatrical book introduces young readers to the history of Our Liberty Bell which is also the title. It shows how the Liberty Bell got its name and how the civil rights movment, abolitionists, and women used it as a symbol of liberty. It was great how the author described how the great liberty bell was cracked from the bell ringer ringing it too much. I would positively recommend this book to all readers. My opinion on Our Liberty Bell is it's theatrical and very descriptive. I would definitely recommend it for readers between the ages of 8 and 13 because it's funny yet meaningful at the same time. It's a comical book when at times you will laugh, cry, and dance.

Hydrogen: Running on Water

This is a book about how hydrogen will hopefully change how we live our daily lives. It discusses how hydrogen will effect our transportation needs, our home appliances, and other common products from cellphones to motorcycles. It has good illustrations about hydrogen and how it is made. It also talks about how it is used today and how it will be used in the future. It is a good book for readers ages 8 and up. It is a very good book to get information from for someone who knows nothing about hydrogen and its uses. If you want to learn more and maybe experiement with it you should find a different book. Overall though, this is a very good book, great information and good pictures.

Satchel Paige, a well-known African American baseball pitcher's story is told by Emmit, a young former baseball player, who had once played against Paige. Emmit's dreams of becoming a baseball legend is shattered after an injury in a game, and his point of view is expressed throughout this moving story. This graphic novel's story illustrations and ideas are truly unforgettable, for it was enjoyable in every way. The author did a fantastic job portraying this unique point of view and I definitely recommend it without a doubt. A recommended age group would be mid-school age children, due to some language and seriousness of the subject. This is also suitable for an adult audience making it great for families as well.

This book is a great imaginative, yet true, journey of a girl named Rupa and her gradmother. Rupa learns the many uses of a sari and gets a special gift. This book shows that grandmothers are also people of culture. I think My Dadima Wears a Sari is a great childrens book full of beautiful water colors and a journey where one learns a grandmothers culture and her own.

This book tells the history of a small town. It shows epic events that occur over the life of the town. This book uses in depth, highly detailed drawings and breaks things open with labels to talk about the particular scene. I loved the detail and the way he uses pictures and labels to teach you about the scene. I would love to go to Whale Port now, it sounds really interesting. I would recommend this book for 4th grade and up.

Do you think a fox could have supper with a chicken? In this book, a mother fox goes out to find food. Her five babies stayed back at the house. One baby fox ends up getting lost, and a hen heard them crying. The hen found the other fox, and when the mother fox got back she thanked the mother hen, and asked her to stay for supper.

This book would be good for ages three to eight. In my opinion, this book is good, but it would be best for younger readers.

The book Under Your Skin: Your Amazing Body is about your insides, as well as your outsides. It talks about everything from your head to your toes, like your digestive system and your lungs. It has many interesting facts to help you learn about your body.

I would recommend this book for children and adults starting from eight years old and up. My opinion is that this is a very interesting book with lots of fun facts that help people learn more about their bodies.

Have you ever been in the snow, and seen snow that looks like animals? This book is about a rabbit who wants to find out what snow is. The rabbit goes out in the snow and finds sticks with snow on them, and thinks they are animals. The rabbit then gets scared by trees that look like wolves. This is a good book for five to eight year olds. If I were a little younger, I would read this book once a month.

Its cool to learn about royal families from the past, present, and future. I think older girls who like learning about princesses and royal families would enjoy this book.

A Sea-Wishing Day

Have you ever wanted to do something, but were unable to do it? In A Sea Wishing Day a little boy does just that. He finds a way to go to sea by using his imagination. On their journey at sea, they searched the area for land. They find an island with a crocodile sleeping on it. As they search the island, the boy's dog, Skipper, finds a treasure chest. Then, they come across some pirates they stole the treasure from. They spot a tree, and the trip came to an end. The little boy then took a bath, and played with the treasure from the island.



I think that this is a good book about imagination because the little boy and his dog imagine they are at sea even though they are only in a swimming pool. I recommend this book for people in grades two or three because it is too hard for beginning readers, but not too easy for kids who have been reading for a little bit and are still learning.

Light Foot is about Death going jump-roping with animals. Death steals a pair of shoes from the dead Man. Death was beaten by a grasshopper and Death never wore shoes again.
I think the book was great and should be for 3rd to 6th grade. Some of the pictures were creepy.

Sky Sweeper

Sky Sweeper is about a boy who had a job as a flower keeper. The boy stayed at this job his whole life. People tried to persuade him to get a better job but he said he always had stuff to do and the monks needed him at the garden. The boy stayed and then died and went to a different world and swept and raked and he was happy.
My opinion of Sky Sweeper is that it was excellent! It had good pictures and the writing was OK. I recommend this for second grade and up.

I think this book is good for kids in kindergarten if it is read to them. It shows apologizing in a funny way! I think second and third graders would like this book too!

Rainstorm is about a boy who is trapped inside on a rainy day. He found a passage in a chest that led to a lighthouse on an island. Once he plays, he goes back to his house and now whenever he has nothing to do, he takes his friends and they go to the island.

I think this book would be a great book for children who cannot read. I believe that 3-6 year olds would enjoy this book the most. This boo kis also great for the imagination.

Santa went on vacation for eleven months and in November he rested up for December. Santa did different things on his eleven months off. An example of what he did is he was a spy in July. He usually does unusual things.
I think this book is excellent for kids of kindergarten through 3rd grade. This book shows littler kids that Santa does other things through out the year, besides just making toys. The book Santa's Eleven Months Off is wonderful because it has an interesting story line.

Cecily G and the 9 Monkeys

Cecily G. and the 9 Monkeys was the original story that introduced the world to Curious George. He was one of the nine monkeys that met Cecily the Giraffe. Cecily was sad because all of her family were taken away to a zoo. The cure for her loneliness was this family of monkeys, who used her as a bridge, a ski-slope, a teeter-totter, a sailboat, and many other unique items. The book ends with a history of the author, H.A. Rey, and how the Curious George books came into existence.
Cecily G. was wonderfully illustrated and well written. It would be enjoyed by children of all ages, but especially younger ones (2nd-5th grades). I enjoyed reading it as an adult and remembered having Curious George books read to me as a child. I found the end section about H.A. Rey fascinating and very informative. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Curious George.

Fiona's Luck is a fiction story about leprechauns who live in a land abundant in luck. But when giants move in, it is thought that they will take up all of the luck and the leprechauns decide to take all of the luck that the land has and lock it up in a chest in the kingdom. When a giant girl named Fiona decides to try to get the luck back, she has to outsmart the king. I think that the book Fiona's Luck is a cool story that has a great moral. I love the great illustrations that are in it and how detailed the pictures are. The age range that I think this book is appropriate for is second grade and up.

Out of the Egg gives a new twist to the Little Red Hen story. Mother Hen continues to do things all by herself. In this wonderful story she plants a tree all by herself, but when her little chick hatches, she has a mind of her own. Tina Matthews' illustrations were cute and refreshing. Easy words, cute pictures, I recommend for ages 4 years of age and up. May not amuse adults as much as young children

With no military background he becomes a general and has troops of his own. Read to see how great determination led Joshua Chamberlain into success in the Civil War. This book shows how Joshua Chamberlain went from an ordinary man into a civil war hero. If you want to read about a war hero in action that uses his mind to trick the enemy, this would be a good book for you. Age range 4th -5th grade.

This book is for kids nine and up.

It's just about five o'clock and Otis just sold his last antique when another customer walked in. It was Suzie Gump, the richest lady in town. "What's for sale," said Suzie. "Nothing," said Otis. "I'll take it!" Suzie said. I think Nothing is a great book because it can be amusing to young kids, but means something to the older kids. It shows how everyone wants what everyone else has, especially when wealthy people or stars have them. It's also good for a laugh too! I recommend this book for ages 5-12 because, like I said, It's amusing and teaches a lesson.

This book is called Robot Warriors, a non-fiction book that has been written by David Jeffers. The book, included in a series of robot books, focuses on the uses of robots in dangerous activities. It has many pictures and uses, like disarming dangerous materials and spying in unmanned aircraft. It also shows designs for future robots. I think this is a good book for grades 3 and up. Some younger kids will only like the pictures, but the words would be incomprehensible.

Ellis Island

This book, Ellis Island, is mostly about immigration to America. During the late 1800s and the early 1900s, immigrants from the U.K., Ireland, Poland, Russia, and other places in the world experienced a time of "America Fever." Many of these people came to America because of hardships, jobs, or to start anew. The immigration station on Ellis Island has not always been there. This station was built only because there were so many immigrants entering into America that the Castle Garden immigration station in Manhattan was too small. Ellis Island was officially closed on November 12, 1954. Then, in 1984, Ellis Island was in the process of being restored. Now, Ellis Island is one of the most popular tourist attractions in New York. It is now the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.

The Rich Man and the Parrot

The Rich Man and the Parrot is about a very rich man that lived in Persia. The rich man traveled a lot and brought back all kinds of things for himself and his parrot. This was not an ordinary parrot; it could talk. The rich man gave the parrot all of the things that it wanted, except for one thing; to be freed from his cage. The rich man would not let the parrot free because he knew that the parrot would fly away. One day, he was going to travel to India and he asked the parrot if he wanted anything. The only thing the parrot wanted was for the rich man to say "hello" to his family. When the rich man did this, all of the parrots fell over. The man came home and told the parrot.
I thought this was a good book to read. It had lots of color and beautiful pictures. I recommend this book for 8-11 year olds.

The planet of Jurassica is invaded by the evil space pirates. The pirates steal the jewels and fly into the sky. Captain Raptor, Threetoe, Angleopterous and Brickthorus chase the pirates to get the jewels back. They encounter many dangerous things to get the jewels back. Will they get them back?

I sort of liked this book because I am not really into science fiction. The age this book would be suitable for is about 8 or 9 years old. I would recommend it to someone who likes action and science ficiton. The pictures in the book match what the words are saying. The cover is good because it shows some of the stuff that goes on in the book.

The book The Tale of Pale Male is about a red-tailed hawk that found a mate named Lola. They built a nest in New York City on top of a tall building. A bunch of bird watchers stopped to watch the beautiful sight. Pale Male went to get food for the mother-to-be (Lola). The people that lived in the tall building got frustrated because of all the droppings from the red-tailed hawks had fallen down to the balcony below them. As Spring came, everyone started to watch more and more and soon they saw the baby chicks. Pale Male and Lola started to teach their chicks. Then, some mean people took their nest down... What happens next?

This book was very good and interesting. It is full of nature and animals. It would be good for 2nd grade and up.

This book is about the Shawnee tribe. It tells about their lifestyle, religion, and how the tribe has changed through time. It shows some of the harsh times they went through. There are beautiful pictures in watercolor, colored pencils, photographs, and maps. The pictures help you understand the Shawnee.
I would recommend this book for any age for reports and presentations.

This book is about all kinds of skin. It talked about rough, smooth, hairy, scaley, and many other skins. The shark's skin is so jagged that if you rubbed it the wrong way, you could get cut. All Kinds of Skin talks about skin with feathers on it, like on birds. Some animals in this book molt their old skin for a new skin. Butterflies have a disguise like skin that makes them look like they have 4 eyes. Crocodiles have tough scales that blend in with the water. The pictures match the information well.
I recommend this book for anyone who likes skin. I liked this book because it tells you about all types of skin.

Save Water is a very informational book about ways to use less water. It also tells you about the water cycle. The pictures in the book go along with the story, and with each picture there is an interesting fact about what is in the picture. The book doesn't just tell you about ways to save water, it also has different facts about water; like about the ocean and the water cycle. I think it was very informational. It had a lot about the way water is important to the world; and why and how to save it. I would recommend this book to kids in 2nd grade and up. It would be good for people doing research on water. Kids who like to learn about the enviornment would also enjoy this book.

The book Bambiraptor and Other Feathered Dinosaurs tells and shows what some feathered dinosaurs were like, what they did, and how they lived. The book also tells and shows how some modern day animals are similar to the dinosaurs.
I thought that this book was good, but I think it could use more dinosaurs, better pictures, and a few more relations to modern day animals. I think that this book would be best for kids who like dinosaurs and animals from grades 3 to 5, or others who like dinosaurs.

I recommend this book for ages 11-15.

This book tells about certain species of anteaters and how humans are destroying their habitat. It also tells about what they eat, how they eat, and when they eat. This book tells where anteaters live and how they take care of their young. It also tells about how they survive.
The pictures went along with the story but the book was boring. I think any person doing a report or studying about anteaters would enjoy this book. This book was very educational.

This is a true story about Emi, a Sumatran rhino, which is the rarest species of rhino. Emi has faced many problems in her life. The story tells about Emi and the people who take care of her. Mary Kay Carson really captures the problems that these rare rhinos have to overcome. The photography always gives a good visual image of what is going on in the book. Overall, I enjoyed this book. I recommend this book to anybody that likes animals and is between grades 5 and 8.

This book is about how penguins are being endangered by humans because of over fishing, oil spills, and hunting and gathering their eggs. It talks about how penguins live and adapt to life. I thought this book was really good and that it kind of inspires kids to help penguins. Recommendd for 2nd to 4th graders.

Blue Lipstick is a hilarious book with poems that most girls can relate to. Jessie, the girl telling the story, has strong opinions that she isn't afraid to share. She has a sarcastic and refreshing take on high school as opposed to the normal drab things about it that you hear. I absolutely loved this book. I would recommed this to girls especially with siblings, or any girl. Probably between 4th or 5th grade and up. It really makes you laugh no matter how rough of a day you are having. I hope that you will take time to read this book and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did.
